Pressing the buttons simply tells the clock which zone you're in; it does not do a time set at that moment. At startup, you should see the hands cycle around the dial and stop at a wait point, usually on the hour (e.g. mine chugged its way around to 4:00 p.m. and then stopped).

My radio keeps on resetting itself at random intervals. I'm not sure if it is when I turn it on or off, but I start it and my clock is back to 1:00 and my presets are gone. I've tried driving with all the lights on to see if that would trigger it when I started it the next time, but it's still random, about 1-5 days, sometimes twice a day.
