The acceptable range for an engine to run at sits between 195 degrees and 220 degrees Fahrenheit. This assumes a person is running a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water. At 225 degrees, the mixture will boil but still function up to 265 degrees Fahrenheit if the system is kept closed (that is, you don't remove the radiator cap).
My cars temp reading is between 210-221. Its staying at middle, and caused my check engine light to go off. the diagnostic was to change thermostat. Which I did with a genuine Chrysler part, but temp is still between 210-221, check engine light is still on. In NJ I cant have the check engine light on.
So when the EVIC said my Coolant Temp was 200°, then 202° and finally 204° right as I turned it off to go into a store. Now I am a little bit worried because like i said earlier I could have sworn average Coolant Temp is 197° when you drive normal and not hard on the throttle. Outside temp is 55°. And I was driving really soft and easy.

I replaced my hoses, thermostat and flushed the system and mine is running around 222-226F after an hour drive at 70-75mph at 55 degrees outside. My oil temp stayed at 203-204.

Its a 5 minute job to take your thermostat out and throw it in a pan to see if ...
Another Chrysler TSB for 2009-2010 Dodge Challenger and 2008-2010 Dodge Magnum/Charger and Chrysler 300 describes a problem where the thermostat may move out of place, allowing coolant to pass through and set the code P0128. The solution is to add a shim and replace the thermostat housing with an updated part. How the thermostat works
